This webinar provided an in-depth look at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) efforts to align pesticide regulations with the requirements of the Endangered Species Act (ESA). Based on the 2022 Workplan, “Balancing Wildlife Protection and Responsible Pesticide Use,” the discussion explored the EPA’s framework for reducing potential impacts on ESA-listed species while supporting agricultural viability.

Participants examined the challenges in implementing a balanced mitigation approach that met statutory obligations while considering economic feasibility and environmental sustainability. The webinar highlighted the potential regulatory effects on family farms, including how unaddressed actions could inadvertently impact both wildlife and habitat.
