Viacheslav Adamchuk is Professor and Chair of the Department of Bioresource Engineering at McGill University, with an adjunct appointment in the Department of Biological Systems Engineering at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Trained as a mechanical and agricultural engineer, his work focuses on the development and deployment of soil- and plant-sensing technologies that enable precision agriculture and site-specific management. Dr. Adamchuk leads the Precision Agriculture and Sensor Systems (PASS) research team, which designs proximal sensor platforms to measure physical, chemical, and biological soil attributes directly in the field and generate georeferenced data for differentiated management decisions. A globally recognized leader in digital farming systems, he has contributed extensively to standards development, scholarly publishing, and international outreach on the adoption of precision agriculture technologies.
