The Council for Agricultural Science and Technology (CAST) is proud to partner with the Riley Memorial Foundation (RMF) and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) for the 16th Charles Valentine Riley Memorial Lecture, to be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the AAAS Headquarters in Washington, D.C.
This annual lecture highlights the intersection of agricultural innovation, environmental sustainability, and public policy—advancing the vision of Charles Valentine Riley to promote agriculture as both an art and a science that serves society.
Lecture Theme:
Pollinators, Plants, and People: Building Networks for Resilience
Featured Speaker: Dr. Christina Grozinger, Publius Vergilius Maro Professor of Entomology, Director of the Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences, and Founding Director of the Center for Pollinator Research and Insect Biodiversity Institute at Pennsylvania State University.
Dr. Grozinger’s remarks will explore the essential relationships among pollinators, plants, and people—addressing the threats to pollinator populations, the importance of habitat restoration, and the growing role of technology and data science in ecological resilience. A panel discussion and reception will follow.
