The Council for Agricultural Science and Technology (CAST) is pleased to welcome four new members to the Strategic Advisory Council (SAC), further expanding the council’s cross‑sector expertise as it continues its work to evaluate what it would mean for CAST to evolve into the National Academy of Agriculture.
The new members are:
- Brandon Neuschafer, American Bar Association, Section of Environment, Energy, and Resources
- Dan Maycock, Emergent
- Elizabeth Stulberg, Lewis‑Burke Associates
- Paola de Almeida, Pegasus Capital Advisors
These leaders bring deep experience across environmental law, strategic technology development, federal policy, and sustainable investment. Their unique perspectives strengthen the SAC’s ability to provide high‑level guidance on the challenges and opportunities ahead for U.S. agricultural science and technology.
Formed in December 2025, the SAC is charged with assessing, defining, and recommending the steps necessary for CAST to serve effectively as the National Academy of Agriculture. As global agriculture faces rapid technological advancement, shifting markets, and evolving national security needs, CAST is committed to convening the expertise needed to thoughtfully chart a future‑focused path.
“CAST is grateful for the commitment these individuals bring to the SAC,” said Chris Boomsma, CEO of CAST. “Their affiliations and leadership experiences will meaningfully contribute to the council’s work as we evaluate how CAST can best serve the nation in this next phase.”
The SAC will continue its work throughout 2026, with recommendations to be delivered to CAST’s Board of Directors later this year.
