Bio

Jonathan Aguilar is a Professor and Extension Water Resource Engineer with Kansas State University Research and Extension, based at the Southwest Research–Extension Center in Garden City, Kansas. His work focuses on developing and delivering irrigation technologies and water management strategies for irrigated agriculture in western Kansas, with emphasis on ET-based scheduling, soil moisture sensing, crop water allocation, and advanced drip irrigation systems. Dr. Aguilar combines applied research, extension leadership, and technology transfer to support producers and extension agents, drawing on expertise in hydrology, remote sensing, GIS, and groundwater and watershed management. He holds a Ph.D. in Biological and Agricultural Engineering from Kansas State University and has extensive international and U.S. research experience in water resources and irrigated systems.
