The Society for In Vitro Biology (SIVB) and the Council for Agricultural Science and Technology (CAST) invite you to a special webinar exploring the transformative role of artificial intelligence in plant and animal research.

About the Webinar

Taking place on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM (EST), this one-hour session will spotlight innovative uses of artificial intelligence and machine learning in biological science. Experts will share how AI is being applied to spatially resolved omics data to uncover the molecular and contextual factors shaping cellular identity and heterogeneity in both human health and agricultural systems.

Speakers
Dr. Seth C. Murray

Professor and Eugene Butler Endowed Chair, Department of Soil and Crop Sciences, Texas A&M University

Dr. Murray leads a pioneering maize breeding program with an emphasis on drone-based field phenomics, quantitative genetic discovery, and AI-powered data analytics. His work is transforming plant breeding through machine learning and deep learning tools, with real-world applications for agriculture and food systems. He is a Fellow of both AAAS and CSSA and served as 2023 President of the Crop Science Society of America.

Dr. Luis O. Tedeschi

Professor, Department of Animal Science, Texas A&M University

Dr. Tedeschi is an internationally recognized expert in ruminant nutrition and computational modeling. He developed the widely used Ruminant Nutrition System (RNS) and has contributed significantly to models like the CNCPS and SRNS. With over 310 peer-reviewed publications and leadership in precision feeding systems, his research integrates mathematical modeling, sustainability, and animal performance. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Animal Science and recipient of multiple international honors.

Moderator
Dr. Deepika Chauhan

Associate Director of Plant Transformation, Pairwise

Dr. Chauhan leads a team focused on developing plant transformation platforms to accelerate product development across crops. With a passion for plant biotechnology and a track record of translating cutting-edge science into farmer- and consumer-preferred products, she brings both technical expertise and strategic insight to the discussion. Dr. Chauhan is the recipient of the 2019 Young Scientist Award and the 2024 Fellow Award from the Society for In Vitro Biology.
